Kaffee-Kuchen-Video Art I // Bring me home// mit Félix Fernández, Video- und Performancekünstler aus Spanien
Das Performance Netzwerk Thüringen veranstaltet in Kooperation mit dem Theater im stellwerk, der Freien Bühne Jena und dem STUKO der Bauhaus Universität, nun die zweite Folge der erfolgreichen "Kaffee und Kuchen" Reihe.
Diesmal freuen wir uns sehr für den 19.02.2016, von 18.-20.00 Uhr den spanischen Video- und Performancekünstler Félix Fernández in das M18, Marienstraße 18, nach Weimar einladen zu können. Félix Fernández ist ein international renommierter und weltweit ausstellender Multimediakünstler, er kratzt hartnäckig an Identitäsgrenzen und stellt seiner Umgebung immer wieder unbequeme Fragen. Er wird Ausschnitte aus seinen vielfältigen Videoarbeiten, Installationen und Performances vorstellen und im Anschluss auch für ein Publikumsgespräch zur Verfügung stehen.
In his self-referencial works he has started to combine the symbolic use of objects, actions and scenes to stress concepts and abstracts process like perfection, desire, creation, contemplative states …
His interest on the contemporary view on individual relationships with their environment in which they find themselves (time, space, body, identity, socioeconomic situation, landscape, mass media, etc.) brought him to start to embody other built identities. His work place themself where the fiction breaks through to communicate more global ideas as they are the social control from the state, authority, rebellion
He is very interested in the review of archetypal figures, old and contemporary myths, with the intention of giving a new focus, updating them and placing their narratives in our time. The body plays a key role in his work and he often features himself.
Formaly he uses a wide range of different formats and creates hybrids between photography and performance, audiovisual shows, installations, videos, drawings, etc.
